During their stay in Japan, Kids for Kaga students will get an opportunity to stay in Kaga and experience various cultural events. They will also travel to cities of cultural and historical significance such as Hiroshima, Kyoto and Tokyo. Below is the itinerary of a past exchange.
Sample Intinerary Day 1 Departure from Toronto (Pearson) to Tokyo (Haneda) by air. Transfer from Haneda to Komatsu by air. Transfer to Kaga by car. Day 2-8 Students stay with their Kaga host families. Itineraries will vary between host families. There will be common events where everyone will participate (opening/ closing ceremonies, trips, City Hall visit, etc.) Day 9 Depart Kaga to Hiroshima by train. Arrive in Hiroshima and check into hotel. Day 10 Hiroshima City landmarks such as Peace Park and museum, Atomic Dome, ground zero, Miyajima Day 11-12 Depart Hiroshima to Kyoto by shinkansen (bullet train). Check into ryokan (traditional Japanese Inn) Tours of Kyoto landmarks (the city boasts 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites) Day 13-14 Depart Kyoto for Tokyo by shinkansen. Tours of Tokyo.
